z: s, .. [What behavior becomes possible only because of AI? .. Who matters for this chapter, Signals of who we need next..]
-
ππ»ββοΈ s, primary vertical, I keep defaulting to social. Lifespan is science. Health Span is lifestyle. And lifestyle is shaped by people. Shared vs. non-shared changes everything. -
ππ»ββοΈ s, N+1, Shamir, he plans to take the Function Health, pairing w/ him to log, share and compare learning.
z: s, ai native, not ai enabled == we are on the same page, what will that work is an open question that we need to dig deeper. E.g., we know the default UX is conversational, but do we want to build yet another chat interface w/ prompts?
ππ»ββοΈ As for behavior only possible b/c of ai: one obvious is "near zero" friction of journaling, for specifically, peer journaling w/o prompts. Something that captures the day, extracts patterns from conversations or routine actions, interprets biomarkers, analyze signals/data per sleep, diet, exereice. A context window that is so large that humans cannot maintain.
z: Also, just got the Function Health Clinician Notes today, it is absoultely "D-" in terms of quality; so disappointed w/ the lack of analysis and insights. Suggested intervention are borderline useless. If we can fix this through better ai integration, then it is already a big win.
z: If the above thesis [healthspan as social lifestyle] is true, then social is the root and all else are branches (diet, sleep, biomarkers, fitness, supplements, hardware, intelligenceβ¦). Do you think this is the right framing or logic to follow?
z: s, the hard question: how do we avoid building yet another "social" app? The world is saturated, not to mention that social is transfat, almost made illegal. It is a tired category.
z: s, blue zones insight, Dan Buettner is clear, blue zones are not geography, not water, not diet, not genetics. Places like Sardinia, Okinawa, Loma Linda, Nicoya, Ikaria all have one common thread == communal lifestyle. People live, move, and eat together. More, they share rituals, stress, joy and routines. Hence, I want to know if AI can make blue zones more accessible?

π definitely ai. but let's fix a vertical before ranking all possible ai impact. how many % committed are we to health, fitness, biomakers, life journaling, social zone..?if at least 90% committed to the top-level "health" (healthspan, longetivity, performance), ai now fundamentally changes these behaviors: 1. daily checkins and just-in-time improvements (instead of annual tests or reactive treatments), 2. N=1 personal and infinite context (instead of general knowledge oraverage metrics), and 3. voice memo + natural language (instead of predefined forms or research jargons).
s: z, today find a friend who will commit for 4 weeks, 20 mins daily check-ins: lose 10 pounds, learn their 100 blood tests, or 2x their weight training. they must disclose all medical info and relevant daily activities.

π exactly, voice memo as the most flyweight journaling β as the input. see below on 1-pager / dashboard / deck / podcast as the output. -
π yes, as i warned but also saw that as our 6-to-12-month product lead: a 1-page summary, 6-metric dashboard, 10-slide deck, 50-minute podcast.. generated by ai as a panel of experts on your quarterly report.our 2-to-3-year advantage will be ai-native comprehensive reasoning (for guiding through a decision tree) and tool-use of a logic deductive engine (for sensible and consistent recommendations). that will present 300+ biomarkers in a hierarchy of how critical the health risks are (avoiding users feeling overwhelmed) vs how uncertain of the measurements (leading to retests and more tests). -
π yes: ai as the paradigm-shifting driver, while social as the bootstrapping and sustainable behavior changer. humans have limited cognition or time to understand all signals and knowledge; ai opens up more possibilities, but social gives feelings and meanings to them. -
π always social, but not an app. stravas for healthspan lifestyle and blue zones using ai β has a digital interface; but we explore "social healthspan ai" through the lens of our friends and their goals, not fixated on the buttons or gamification yet. -
π always people, while not everything is ai. since blue zones are about "physical social", we can bootstrap as a small tgi-@ gathering before using ai for scaling (vibe matching, voice memories). hence, having a garage weight room, health-curious regulars, communal leafy eating.. will be a good anchor as our moai 樑ε.
