ππ»ββοΈ Stage 3: Longevity Cafe, physical nodes. The third place for high-fidelity, communal experiences. Combines premium cafe w/ clinical grade self-diagnostics (starbucks + GNC + soul cycle). Hard questions 1). Will people pay $10 for the feeling of progress? 2). Location, while true (bay area has the highest density of quantified-self & tech forward behaviors in the US, will they pay on top of Whoop, Strava, Peloton, Oura, FX, Tonal, Equinoxβ¦? 3). Why has no one built a "pit stop" for cyclists, runners? 4). How to make the coolest place for Stanford students to hang & chill.
ππ»ββοΈ <3, more "s tier" do you think supplement is a good business? Seems like fx health, superpower.ππ»ββοΈ 0 cal boba tea.
ππ»ββοΈ Stage 4: Biomarker DoppelgΓ€ngers, pull health signals (Apple health, Whoop, Strava, labs, behaviors, vitals, sleep, training load", convert/encrypt them into vectorized signature and lock w/ key pairs. Use the sig' to create or match against a large set of pre-built digital twins to find the closest biological look-alikes. Goal is to join an existing cohort whose internal trajectories mirror yours. Everyone's actual data remains hidden. All shared interactions (changes in LDL, HRV, VO2max, recovery score, sleepβ¦) are "projection of digital doppelgΓ€ngers.
Flushing out concept: most recommendation systems match you to "people like you, interest graph". BUT longevity isn't about staying who you are, it is about becoming who you become. A real doppelgΓ€ngers should "ghosts of the past", "biological peers" and "future selves". Past, present and future have functional utilities, warning (don't get fat and die), baseline (stay the course, don't quit), and aspiration (compound improvements, optimize).
ππ»ββοΈ Problem: Longevity is lonely, expensive & invisible. Medical grade diagnostics requires a doctor's prescription and appointment at a sterile lab. It is a sick care experience for people trying to optimize health. Biohacking is currently isolated activity done in home kitchens, toilet time scrolling, home gyms. There is no physical node for the community to gather, share, or "compete". The rewards and the data are abstract and tucked away behind app icons. Apple health, Whoop, Oura, Strava has no physical touchpoint. Blue Zones #1 rule for living longer means living for others. (ππ»ββοΈ note to self: share my takeaway re: Bryan Johnson's Jubliee).
ππ»ββοΈ debate Solution: cafe front = genius bar for your metabolism. A design forward, tech-centric (robotic arms, 3d printed supplements) serving functional beverages. Back of the cafe, "wet lab" & dry lab for walk-in self served diagnostics. Compliance w/ healthcare law via MSO: 7 minute VO2 proxy, sub-maximal ramp test (no mask) to estimate aerobic ceiling. $312 Lactate profiling, finger-stick analysis to define zones (1-5). Body composition can: InBody 770 scans ($30/scan, $24k machine) for visceral fat tracking. The social loop: sync data instantly to AI native app, giving a w/w scoreboard and a specific intervention to execute at the bar.
ππ»ββοΈ south bay area has so many weekend warriors, quantified-self enthusiastsβ¦ a fitness bar may the right appeal as a post workout ritual / gathering place.ππ»ββοΈhealth-oriented restaurants don't scale. Ingredients are too time/location/staff dependent. hence , why Mixue & Luckin are killing/winning the cafe business (core = tech).ππ»ββοΈ AI coaching layer, fitness precogs: "The 10 Squared squad are like fitness precogs in Minority Report, connecting clues in the present to prevent a bad event before it happens in the future. They will triangulate the results from the 30 drills I do for stability, strength, and cardio; factor in my body composition from a DEXA scan; then prescribe a fitness plan to power me for the next five decades. That's not a typo; this program is not 7-Minute Abs! or Great Shape in 4 Weeks! It's a training blueprint for your whole life."
ππ»ββοΈ Hard questions: 1). Is this a hair on fire problem? 2). Is the cafe just a gimmick? 3). Maybe this is a better suite for Equinox or even Blue Bottle? 4). This will never scale, too expensive, too slowβ¦ 5). Location, time, staffing, operationally a nightmare.
ππ»ββοΈ why so many tests w/o a doctor's visit? I had 2 lunch meetings and 1 office visit w/ my doctor since 11/6 test results.ππ»ββοΈ if I were you, i would focus on 2 max categories (π Heart & Nutrients) keep in mind, most biomarkers DO NOT change over the course of 2 months.ππ»ββοΈ what's your target weight by Q1? (z = 127 lb, 9% body fat).

π instead: hey tea + therabody + 10Β² -
π no, per "1% difference" below. -
π konjac pearls. -
π yes, social clusters on health (metrics). sadly it is a cool feature, not a core product value. social features can simply be subreddits and anonymous accounts; matching fewer than 1m users doesn't scale to advance controlled experiments in a cluster. -
π No prescription / only $6 physician fee via PWNHealth: "Quest says among its most popular tests is a $385 comprehensive health profile that analyzes more than 75 markers including those related to heart, kidney and liver health, as well as diabetes risk. It includes an evaluation taking in family history, lifestyle, and wellness behaviors." (per wsj: patients are diagnosing themselves with home tests, devices and chatbots). all tests: $375 fitness profile, $295 metabolism panel, $145 vo2 max.. -
π apple genius bar works only because of product sales and subscriptions. -
π functional / healthy cafes mostly degenerate into prepackaged bottles or high sugar options. mendocino farms is scaling well but very limited options, so ok for once a week. -
π "we do this for life." -
π i actually want all of the above. so, we should replicate peter attia's biograph (with ai) and worry about scaling for the mass much later. see "on fire" below. -
π we can have a 1-month pop-up partnership with tracy's studio or mark's new clinic (moving in 2026 q2).
π #ai-debate my questions that need help from my 1-peer (you!):
which biomarkers to retest on 12/15 mon 9am? i don't have big questions or drastic changes, but 10+ small questions. you are 99% versed on function health by now? i feel 50% at best, looking at so much conflicting / redundant / irrelevant info there.lose another 10 pounds of fat. I suspect microbiome change and two 4-hour daily fasting windows are key to my losing 15 pounds earlier. but now, i already max out on eating healthy + probiotics food and also optimizing for basketball energy + muscle growth β am i out of (big) options and leverages for fat loss?π 160 pounds, 15% fat.
